12.50 BST - Here we go again then. Another thrilling hour and a half of track action to follow from Spa. I can barely contain my excitement.
The Foot - "/Legard mode on. Woo Webbers up to 13th already! What a champ!"
13.00 BST - It's no longer raining and the track should be dry thanks to the GP2 Practice that ran inbetween these two F1 sessions, so hopefully we should get two sessions worth of action in these 90 minutes! Or...Straight out onto the track comes just about everyone.
13.10 BST - Good grief, they're actually setting times. The Renaults are first and second, with Alonso ahead of Grosjean, but suddenly there's a red flag. We're not getting any clue as to why yet...oh, message from Race Control says there's debris on the track at Blanchimont. A radio message from Rob Smedley indicates that it's a wheel cover off Badoer's car.
13.15 BST - Straight back on with the session, the clock kept ticking of course, meaning we missed out on a couple of minutes of thrilling action. Jenson Button sets an outstanding 8:14.135, faster than Nakajima on a 9:04.774, and Webber trailing in their wake on a 9:06.905. Boobens then has a spinny coming out of Les Combes.
13.20 BST - Hamilton is now quickest ahead of Webber and Alonso, with Vettel 4th, although Bwemmy trumps them by popping up into 3rd, and Button is now 6th. The timing screen is now resembling a fruit machine somewhat. Kubica takes over 6th for a second before Alonso pushes him down by going 3rd, with Raikkonen jumping into 8th. Badoer is now 18th and last of the drivers who have set times, with Heidfeld and Sutil yet to do so, although both are on track.
13.25 BST - Toro Rosso are having a good start to the session, as Algie slots in behind his teammate in 5th, so the Red Bull quartet are 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Heidfeld sets a 16:23.376, quicker than Sutil on a 16:30.220, although they are both slightly slower than Luca Badoer. Ickle goes 14 and a half minutes faster and jumps up to 16th, and Sutil slots in behind him in 17th. Badoer regains his rightful position...Algie however is now in a very impressive 4th, behind only Hamilton, Webber and Alonso!
13.30 BST - NANDO keeps me happy by moving up to P1, and Kova improves into 4th. The Sut is now up to 5th in the Findia, which continues to impress on Fridays.
13.35 BST - Kovalainen slipstreams Nakajima down the pit straight and pulls off a superb late braking manouevre into La Source to move into...oh hang on it's Friday isn't it. Raikkonen has just done a purple S1, and improves into 4th overall. Webber goes 2nd quickest with a quickest S2. The Red Bulls are mega in the middle sector but not as quick as the rest in the other 2 sectors, which is interesting. Kimi goes quicker again and moves up to 2nd place, and Nico goes 10th.
13.40 BST - Another purple S2 for Webber, and this time he goes quickest overall, while Button improves to 7th. Incredibly the Brawn gave away about a second and a half to the Red Bull in the middle sector. Webber improves again, looking very strong. Badoer improves! He's now in 20th place! Incredible. Button meanwhile puts together a decent lap to move into 4th.
13.45 BST - Both Red Bulls improve, Vettel only to 10th though. Jarno Trulli goes 3rd in the Yoda, and Buemi has once again gone up into a very decent 5th place for Toro Rosso. Barrichello goes up to 8th place. Vettel improves again, this time to 3rd behind Trulli who has snuck into 2nd, the crafty Italian.
13.50 BST - Eight tenths cover the top 12 at the halfway point, the last of whom is Jaime Alguersuari. I pop out of the room and suddenly Sut is up into 3rd! Cracking effort in the Findia.
13.55 BST - Kubica does a decent lap which is good enough for 5th place in the Beemer, while Grosjean improves but stays 15th. Glock also improves from 18th up to 2nd, excellent effort from the German, and now less than an eighth of a second covers the top 5. Or the top 4, as Sutil's time has been disallowed for missing the final chicane, doh.
14.00 BST - Algie now goes 4th, less than a tenth behind Webber! Grosjean is consistently going quicker every lap, which is encouraging for the young Frenchman. Buemi goes up to 8th, and Foot points out that the Red Bulls are trying a different setup, which makes them quicker in the first and final sectors but far slower in the middle sector, making him half a second slower across the lap.
14.05 BST - The Finns are sticking together, as Kimi goes 8th and Heikki 9th. Nobody else is particularly improving at the moment.
14.10 BST - Badoer misses the chicane at Bus Stop. Ian Phillips claims he's pushing too hard. Arf. Williams are not fast today so far, with Nico 17th and Nakas down in 19th and the last F1 driver in the order. Glock is going quite well, with a green S1 and S3, although his S2 was a tad off the mark. Nakajima jumps ahead of Fisichella into 18th, so the Williams duo are now together.
14.15 BST - Kubica does another good lap to move one thousandth ahead of Alguersuari into 4th place. Alonso is on a lap that looks like propelling him into the action at the front. Except that it doesn't. Grosjean improves, he's still 16th but he's now only 8 tenths off the quickest time and 3 tenths off his double World Champion teammate, decent effort. Kimi bumps Buemi and goes 7th.
14.20 BST - Nakas is now ahead of Nico in 17th, but Nico is on a lap which is.....very slow. Glock does the best S2 of the session, and takes over P1! Quite a turnaround for Toyota after their 'showing' last weekend.
EMAIL! - These names are getting sillier...Frank Mintz says he's heard Scott Speed may be returning to F1, and can I shed any light on it? He says he'd find it shocking after his performances the last time he was in the sport. Obviously I agree, Frank, I thought he was absolutely hopeless last time and I see no way that can have improved after a couple of years of driving NASCARs round in circles, but the new US F1 team may look at him as an ideal candidate for one of their seats next year, what with him being from that country.
He also points out that Usain Bolt and Scott Speed both have fast names. Yes they do. I suspect Bolt on his feet could beat any time from Speed in a car over 100 metres though.
14.25 BST - Boobens improves to 12th, a tenth ahead of Button. Yellows were briefly out again but have disappeared. Badoer is now less than 2.5 seconds away from fastest, which is lightning by his standards.
14.30 BST - Hamilton goes 2nd and Webber goes 3rd, I've lost the plot a bit here in these late stages. Nakajima is improving in the Williams, up to 13th, and Hamilton goes P1. Badoer is now only 2 seconds away from quickest! Grosjean is 11th now, one place ahead of Alonso!
14.35 BST - Kimi has a little off around the back of the circuit, and decides to pull off the track at Stavelot, which is annoying. Grosjean goes 5th, Fisichella goes 6th! Hamilton runs off at Fagnes as well, and Alguersuari has stopped out the back of the circuit, dear me what a messy end to the session.
We'll go through the order then, as that was a rather confusing conclusion. Hamilton quickest from Glock, Kimi, Webber, Grosjean, Fisi, Trulli, Kubby, Algie, Sebvet, Bwemmy, Kova, Sut, Nando, Nakas, Ickle, Button, Boobens, Nico and Baddie. Only a fraction over a second covering the top 19 cars however.
14.40 BST - A bad day then for Brawn and Williams, and of course Luca Badoer. But a good day for Toyota, with Glock and Trulli up near the top of the times all day, and all the Red Bull cars looking quick. But it's Lewis Hamilton, with 18 points in the last 2 races, who ends up quickest today. I'm going away for the weekend, but my colleagues will be here to bring you their unrivalled and somewhat funnier coverage of the remaining action. Cheerio folks (and come on Nando!)
