The Campos Meta 1 team has finally got it's PR department in order and has confirmed that Bruno Senna will race for them in 2010, a mere several hours or so after Senna himself announced the deal on Twitter on Friday evening.

The Campos team has become the first of the new F1 teams to announce the signing of a driver, with USF1, Manor Grand Prix and Malaysilotus all still working on deals.

The CEO of the Campos team, the fantastically-named Enrique Rodriguez de Castro confirmed that: "For Campos Meta 1, it is an extraordinary honour to be returning the name Senna to Formula 1.

"The deal with Senna confirms and re-enforces our prime objective of being not only the first Spanish Formula 1 team, but rather the first Iberian-American F1 team. The 2014 World Cup, the 2016 Olympics, and three drivers in F1 - it's clear that Brazil is coming up." He added, bizarrely.

De Castro said it was impressive how quickly Senna had made it into F1, ignoring the fact that he hadn't raced single-seaters at all this season and the fact that he's 26 years old.

"We have followed him closely since his early days in minor series and testified how quickly he developed his speed and skills at GP2 to become one of the most promising up-and-coming drivers of his generation," De Castro smiled, pretending that Senna was in some way the greatest hidden talent ever and not the most famous GP2 driver of recent years.

"It is astonishing how fast he is entering the F1 scenario after just a few years in motor racing."

Speaking about the deal, Senna tore himself away from meaningless social networking for long enough to scream that: "I'm absolutely delighted to fulfil a lifetime dream. Now it is time to set new targets. The project that Campos Meta 1 developed is designed to succeed both on and off the track."

Campos will hope that the signing of Senna will end the rumours that their team is going to struggle to make 2010 will stop, and will now look to add an experienced F1 backmarker in the second car. Probably Marc Gene or someone crap like that.
