Hamilton was one of the heaviest-fuelled cars in the final part of qualifying, but still mustered pole position, leaving him in a prime spot to drive off into the distance and take a hugely dull win in the race on Sunday.

Nick Heidfeld's efforts to qualify just a single place ahead of his team mate look less impressive given that he was the lightest of all the Q3 runners, while the Red Bulls and Nico Rosberg are all lighter than they might have wanted.

Rubens Barrichello was also very light, in an effort to keep himself inside the top ten afer his five-place grid penalty, while Timo Glock's qualifying effort in his awful Toyota look impressive given that he was heavier than everyone save Kubica in the session.

Elsewhere, Adrian Sutil is the heaviest runner from 16th on the grid, while his team mate Liuzzi is super-light from the back of the grid, and Jenson Button will start with a weight of 683kg from the middle of the grid.
