After being casually ignored for a 2010 grid slot, despite allegedly having the car and drivers ready to race, the Serbian Stefan GP team have confirmed that they are bidding for the vacant spot for the 2011 Formula One season.
The news comes from the team's redesigned website, which shows off their exciting new logo and has a background of a really shoddy computer image of a stock F1 car.
Team boss Zoran Stefanovic released a statement that confirmed the team's 2011 entry bid as well as launching more outlandish plans to build a Serbian grand prix circuit with the hope of attracting the sport in the future.
Stefan GP had already signed up 1997 world champion and Jacques Villeneuve and former Williams driver Kazuki Nakajima to spearhead their 2010 campaign, in which they would have used their never-seen S01 car, based on the plans for a 2010 Toyota contender.
But the FIA chose not to offer them the vacant slot freed up when USF1 were forced to withdraw, and instead started 2010 with 12 teams, opening up the 13th slot to new tenders.
The statement from Stefan GP today said that: "Stefan GP would like to make a public announcement that the AMCO Corporation and its owner Zoran Stefanovic have today signed an agreement with the Mayor of Stara Pazova, located 25km from Belgrade, Serbia, to build the Stefan Technology Park.
"This will include a racing circuit suitable for the competition of Formula 1, and a technical complex that will serve as Stefan Grand Prix's team headquarters upon completion in two years time."
It added that: "StefanGP would also like to officially announce our bid for the FIA 2011 Formula One World Championship."
The statement quoted Stefanovic as saying that the Technology Park plans highlighted that his team were serious about getting into Formula One.
"I think this is an excellent development for our team, Stara Pazova city, region and country," he grinned, "This is proof that we want to put ourselves on the map as a serious high-tech company, and that we are serious about competing in Formula 1 for the long term.
"Bearing in mind that we will soon be on a par with top teams, in terms of facilities and organisation, as Stefan Technology Park looking to be compared with them, we expect many positive improvements in the future."
The exciting new Stefan website, which has almost five pages of information, also revealed that the team had talks with the likes of WRC champion Sebastien Loeb, former F1 drivers Ralf Schumacher, Takuma Sato, Narain Karthikeyan and Christian Klien, and some bloke called Alex Margaritis about a drive with them in 2010.
It also contains a bizarre interview-cum-war cry from Stefanovic, where the Serbian said that: "A great man by the name of Sir Winston Churchill once said something that I try to implant into the minds of the people in my team. It's something along the lines of: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!
"In the last almost 12 months you were all witnesses of the fact that I strongly stand behind my beliefs."
He adds that: I still believe that F1 would be a much more interesting competition with SGP, and my team and I feel like the battle is just starting. We want to be a part of F1 for both the long and short term future, and I hope that we will finally have the success we deserve.
"This quality is shared by every person who has changed the world. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP! Thank you for supporting us, and I hope to see you at GP soon!"
Stefan GP's entry bid sees the number of confirmed teams after the final grid slot increase to three, with both Le Mans constructor Epsilon Euskadi and former GP2 backmarkers Durango also having officially made bids.
