The endless linking of 2007 Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen with a return to the pit lane next season continues ever onwards, with the Finn again suggesting that he would only sort out his 2011 plans later on in the year.
Raikkonen took a 'sabbatical' from F1 for 2010 after losing his seat at Ferrari to Fernando Alonso and failing to secure a deal with the McLaren team, who opted for Jenson Button instead, and is instead spending 2010 racing for the Citroen Junior team in the World Rally Championship.
The Finn is slowly getting up to speed in the rallying world, finishing 5th overall in the last round in Turkey to record his best result so far, albeit nearly seven minutes behind rally winner Sebastien Loeb.
But despite Raikkonen enjoying his Red Bull-sponsored stint in the world of rallying, the rumours linking him to a return to Formula One in 2011 with Red Bull Racing refuse to be quelled, no matter how much you try to ignore them.
Raikkonen himself is refusing to rule out a return to the sport, but told the Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat that he was simply hoping to do whatever he would find "most interesting" in 2011.
"It has not turned in any direction," he replied when asked if his thoughts towards F1 had changed after his result in Turkey,
"There is no rush for me to make decisions. We'll have to see what are the possibilities and what for me is the most interesting -- what I enjoy the most and what it is I most want to do."
He added: "We will see at a point some time later this year."
Raikkonen also backed up the perception that he had tired of F1's corporate side, rather than the racing itself, towards the end of his time in the sport. He explained that he found the world of the WRC much more to his liking.
"If the F1 world could go back 20 years, it would be the same as rallying now," he muttered, "[Rallying] is still professional but in just a bit more of a relaxed style."
The rumours linking Raikkonen to Red Bull were triggered when the caffeinated company subsidised the Finn's WRC salary, with current Red Bull driver Mark Webber out of contract with the F1 team at the end of 2010.
