Virgin to pop cherry online

E-mail Print PDF

The smirkingly named Virgin Racing will be pulling the covers off it's shiny bits for the first time next Wednesday in what promises to be an almost interesting launch. As is all the rage these days the event will be streamed online.

As a slight oddity however, the actual event will be entirely virtual, for all of 30 seconds until the feed drops out anyways. Presumably this has been done to match their level of threat to the top teams this year, or possibly to save money on renting chairs for the three journalists that would've shown up.

The online button mashing fest will unveil the new VR-01 behind a torrent of 'Get ripped in 7 seconds without moving!' popups and a party of level 27 Druids who are expected to crash.

The car itself has been entirely designed with CFD by the literally larger than life Nick Wirth, will run the Cosworth engine and will be driven by Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi throughout the 2010 season. Unless they're replaced by a virtual entity as well. The F1 world will definately be interested to see the first F1 car doodled entirely on computer, though a deluge of 'Select RB5 - ctrl-c/ctrl-v' puns are anticipated.

You can catch the event at virginracing.com on February 3rd around 10am.
