The stillborn USF1 team's factory contents have been put up for auction today, after the American squad offically ceased operations shortly after missing the cut for the 2010 Formula One world championship season.
The USF1 team, set up by Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor in February 2009, were one of four new entrants scheduled to join the F1 grid in 2010, but a series of financial issues and development delays saw them rescind their spot on the 2010 entry list shortly before the start of the season.
The team was then officially closed for good shortly after the start of the season.
And now the assets of the company will be sold by the auction, taking place in Charlotte from Thursday.
The list of lots contain all manner of exciting engineering equipment, storage cabinets and design tools, as well as computer equipment, a Weber BBQ and a pair of luridly-coloured sofas.
Tellingly, though, the actual car parts available via the auction is severely limited, highlighting precisely how far away from being ready for Bahrain the team were.
A single half-built chassis mock up is contained in the auction, an item which had already attracted a generous bid of $133 at the time of writing, as well as a chassis mould.
Also included in the auction, somwhat oddly, is a single F1 car wheel, as well as paintings of former American F1 drivers Dan Gurney and Mario Andretti, and a single, rather sad-looking, bottle of unopened champagne.
