Ferrari race driver Felipe Massa has criticised his former mentor and current Mercedes GP man Michael Schumacher after the pair controversially collided in the closing stages of the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal last weekend.
Schumacher and Massa were fighting over eighth place at the time, when the Brazilian tried to get past the German into the final chicane at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
But Schumacher moved across aggressively, and ended up forcing Massa to take to the grass, where he damaged the front wing of his car.
And talking about his Canadian race, which saw him eventually finish in 15th place after a series of mishaps, Massa said that his hopes of a good result were ruined by Schumacher's move, which happened despite the pair of them having worked together at Ferrari in the past.
"It was a bad weekend, especially when you consider I had a very good car for the race and was expecting to pick up a significant number of points," Massa rambled on the official Ferrari's website.
"But then I was caught up in the accident at the first corner, sandwiched between Button and Liuzzi, which removed any chance of a clean race and a strong finish.
"I had a good start and was making up places on the way to the first corner, but then I had to pit for a new nose and that was it. Even after that setback, I was heading for the points in the closing stages: I was tenth, but Michael who was ahead of me was much slower, maybe three seconds and Buemi in front of him was also slow, so I was in with a chance of finishing eighth."
He added: "But then came the problem with Michael. He closed the door on me too much. He braked on the right and moved across to the left where I was.
"There was nothing I could do, as I was already on the limit of my braking and when he moved across even more, he broke my front wing."
Massa's pointless performance in Montreal left him eighth in the drivers championship, some 42 points off the lead of the standings.
