Under-pressure Force India driver Vitantonio Liuzzi has insisted that he is expecting to race for the team into the 2011 season, and has revealed that his all-time Formula OneĀ ambition would be a drive with the McLaren team.
Ever the optimist, it would seem, Liuzzi has said that the McLaren squad have always been his favourite F1 team, and that he would love to drive for them in the future, though he also insists that he is happy at Force India, who he sees as having done a "great job".
He also insisted that his future was secure in the sport, despite being the subject of a series of recent rumours about his future.
Former Toro Rosso and Red Bull driver Liuzzi joined the Force India team at the start of the 2008 season as a test driver, but was called up to a race drive from the 2009 Italian Grand Prix after Giancarlo Fisichella moved to Ferrari.
Recent reports, however, have suggested that the team are looking to replace Liuzzi with test driver Paul di Resta for next season at the latest, after being largely disappointed with the Italian's performances to date.
Despite that, Liuzzi has insisted in an interview with Autosprint magazine that the best years of his career are still ahead of him, and says that he feels secure in the Force India team for 2011.
"Who would have said last year that [Mark Webber] would now be going for the title?" Liuzzi pointed out when asked whether he still had more to give in his career.
"I feel very good with Force India and I have an agreement with them for the whole of 2011."
He also revealed his desire to drive for McLaren, though insisted that he was still happy at the Indian team.
"My aim and my dream is to race for McLaren, who have always been my favourite team," he gushed in a sensational show of optimism.
He added: "As for Force India, I think that with the budget available to us, we have done a great job.
"And we are optimistic looking ahead, because those who have much bigger budget now need to learn to work with lower numbers."
The Force India team have established themselves in the midfield for 2010, with the team currently 6th in the constructors championship with 35 points. Liuzzi, though has been outscored by 23 points to 12 so far by team mate Adrian Sutil.
