Campos to retain role in revamped team

Former Campos team principal Adrian Campos will retain a role within his revamped team, according to reports in the Spanish media, while Thursday's media event will see the team launch their car and unveil Karun Chandhok as a 2010 driver.

Former Minardi driver Campos originally looked to have lost his place in the team after his ailing squad was bought out by team stakeholder Jose Ramon Carabante, and he was replaced as team principal by former Force India boss Colin Kolles.

But according to reports from Spain's El Mundo newspaper, Campos will stay on as 'executive vice president' (or possibly 'executive to the vice president') for the 2010 season.

Meanwhile, the media event in Murcia on Thursday will confirm Chandhok as the team's second driver, with Senna remaining with the team in the other seat. Either or both of Jose Maria Lopez and Pastor Maldonado could be unveiled as the team's reserve driver for 2010.

The event will also see the Dallara-designed 2010 car launched. El Mundo also suggests that the car will have a shakedown test at the Imola circuit prior to it's Bahrain debut, though it looks set to head to the Middle East for the start of the 2010 season without any significant testing completed on the car.

Meanwhile, Colin Kolles officially confirmed the team's change of name on Wednesday, claiming that the new Hispania Racing (or HRT F1 for short) name represents a "new birth" for the Spanish team.

"The new team name signifies a new birth for our Formula One ambitions and highlights the incredible effort that is going on behind the scenes to ensure we make a successful debut in Bahrain on 14 March," a statement from Kolles claimed.
