Ousted Force India driver Adrian Sutil is happy to wait until the start of pre-season testing next February to secure his F1 future, according to his manager Manfred Zimmermann, despite the lack of remaining 2012 drives.
Sutil lost his drive with Force India last week, when the team confirmed that they are to replace him for 2012 with Nico Hulkenberg.
The long-predicted decision brought to an end Sutil's five-year stint with the team.
It also leaves him struggling for an alternative 2012 drive, with only two seats - at Williams and HRT - still to be filled for next season.
But his manager believes that there is no need for he or his driver to panic about the situation just yet.
"We are not panicking," he told the Sport1 website in Germany, "We have until February 7, when the [pre-season] tests begin."
Reports have strongly linked Sutil to a Williams seat alongside Pastor Maldonado for next season, with the Grove team interested in his combination of F1 experience and personal sponsors.
However, a recent report from Auto Moto und Sport suggested that Sutil is looking to limit his initial contract at Williams to a single season.
According to the German publication, Sutil is one of the names on Ferrari's shortlist to replace Felipe Massa for 2013 should the Brazilian continue to struggle.
But Zimmerman refused to confirm the Ferrari link, saying only that: "It would be a strange tactic to give the names of those you are talking to.
"We will keep quiet with our various options and decide what makes the most sense."
Sutil had raced for the same team since entering F1 in 2007, back when the Force India squad was owned by Spyker.
