Former Formula One world champion Jacques Villeneuve believes that the only remaining flaw to new 2010 champion Sebastian Vettel is his "psychological maturity" saying that it still remains to be seen if the German has improved in that area.
Vettel became the youngest ever F1 world champion in the 2010 season, securing the title at the final round in Abu Dhabi.
But he was involved in a number of incidents throughout the year, including the infamous 'Bullgate' collision at the Turkish Grand Prix, and another crash with title rival Jenson Button in Belgium.
And Villeneuve suggested that it was this aspect of the German's character remains the questionable aspect to his racing psyche.
"That Vettel is very quick, there is no doubt," he casually shrugged to the German T-Online website, ""The question has always been his psychological maturity."
He added that: "Viewing it from the outside, it's impossible to say how [his maturity] has developed."
The 1997 world champion also defended seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, who was criticised in his comeback year to the sport last season.
Villeneuve, who attempted his own audacious comeback in the 2010 season with the failed Stefan GP team, said that he was sure that Schumacher still had the "makings to be a champion" in the future.
"In the second half of [last] season he was really strong," the Canadian rambled when asked about Schumacher.
He added: "He was criticised severely because he didn't just blow Nico [Rosberg] away. But if he is still as hungry to win as he used to be, then he has the makings to be champion again."
Villeneuve also criticised the new-for-2011 adjustable rear wings, saying that he didn't feel that the sport needed fixing following last season.
"2010 was one of the best seasons ever," he mused, possibly indicating that he was watching something completely different to everyone else by added: "There was lots of overtaking, so I can't understand these rule changes.
"It might be even easier with the rear wing, but that's just artificial."
The new rear wing has been introduced across the field for 2011 as a method for cars to break through the 'dirty air' from a car in front, to be used in 600-metre overtaking zones at each track.
