Following their impressive performance in the Indian Grand Prix, where both drivers finished in the top six, the Mercedes GP squad say that they are pushing for more points at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next weekend.
Mercedes secured one of their less unimpressive results of the season in India, with Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg finishing 5th and 6th in the race.
The result came thanks to problems for some of their faster rivals, after Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton had their now-infamous coming together.
And while the team admits that finishing as 'best of the rest' is as good as they can manage right now, they are still hoping for more points in Abu Dhabi.
"Our target in Abu Dhabi is to build upon our recent form, which has seen at least one of our drivers finish among the top six in four of the last six races," Mercedes motorsport boss Norberg Haug bellowed.
"This is the maximum we can currently achieve, given that the six cars of the three top teams are generally producing better lap times than our current technical package."
Team principal Ross Brawn added: "On the back of a two-car points finish, and a very good team performance, at the inaugural Indian GP, we will be working towards a similar result in Abu Dhabi."
Meanwhile, Schumacher is looking forward to another bite at Abu Dhabi's 'twilight' race, after he was eliminated on lap 1 last season following a scary opening lap crash.
Schumacher spun on the opening tour, before being hit head-on by Tonio Liuzzi's Force India as he sat backwards on the track.
"The twilight race [in Abu Dhabi] certainly delivers a very unique atmosphere and challenge, and I truly enjoyed driving in those conditions last year when I was doing so for the first time.
"I hope that we can carry on our good team performance next weekend, and I look forward to scoring more points."
His team mate Rosberg added: "I have good memories from last year's race and racing later in the day makes an interesting change to the usual race weekend format.
"I felt very comfortable in my car over the Indian Grand Prix weekend, and I'm planning to build on the result there in Abu Dhabi.
"I hope that we can get closer to the fastest teams for the last couple of races this season, and we are pushing very hard to achieve that."
