Lotus Renault GP driver Bruno Senna has revealed some slightly modest targets of continuing to learn and improve over the final three races of the season, as the Brazilian prepares for next weekend's Indian Grand Prix.
Senna has been the team's second race driver for the second half of 2011, since replacing Nick Heidfeld in the team's line-up.So far, he has endured some mixed results, and has so far secured just two championship points across his five race appearances, with ninth place in Italy.
And for the final races, he has said that he is planning to continue learning, and also aim to return to the points-paying places.
"Some of my best races were in Abu Dhabi and Brazil last year so there's no reason why I shouldn't enjoy similar fortunes this time around, especially because I am in a competitive car that can score points," he bragged on Friday.
"The aim is to keep learning, keep improving, and to arrive in India with a much clearer head after the frustration of my weekend in Korea.
"I loved the experience of being in the points in Monza, and that's something I want to repeat. I have three races left to do that."
His team mate Vitaly Petrov meanwhile, who sits 9th in the championship on 36 points, added that he was looking forward to the challenge of the brand new Indian GP.
"It will be quite challenging for the teams and drivers because it is a new track where no-one has raced before," he pointed out in the team's race preview.
"That was the same story in Korea two years ago so I know it's quite a tricky scenario. I have prepared in many ways and racing in India will be a refreshing challenge. As a new circuit, it is a level playing field for everyone."
But he admitted that his race weekend would be compromised by the five-place grid drop he picked up in Korea, after he collided with Michael Schumacher.
"Regrettably, I am starting with a five position penalty, due to the incident with Michael in Korea," he lamented, "So I will have to be right at the top of my game."
Team boss Eric Boullier, meanwhile, added that the team needed to continue to focus on the final three races of the season, despite the increasing emphasis on development work for 2012.
"There will be increasing temptation to start looking to next season, and to contemplate what exciting times might lie ahead," he smiled.
"However, we have to maintain focus and look at the here and now; We won't allow ourselves an ounce of complacency from the team going into these final three races."
He added: "We must ensure we have a good car to take with us to India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil; our pace has been satisfactory recently, we have some performance now but we must translate this performance into points.
"We will be disciplined in achieving that."
