Famous surname Bruno Senna has downplayed recent rumours that he is close to sealing a drive with the Williams team for 2012, saying that he is still fighting for a drive for next season, but that nothing has been signed.
Senna lost his drive with the Renault team at the end of the 2011 season, being replaced by Romain Grosjean alongside new lead driver Kimi Raikkonen.
That demotion left Senna without a clear chance of a seat in 2012, with very few drives still available on next year's grid.
However, recent rumours have linked Senna to a drive at Williams thanks to suggestions that the Grove-based team is in taks with a new communications company to become the team's new title sponsor.
After the loss of AT&T last week, the Williams squad are keen to quickly sign up a replacement.
The Reuters news agency confirmed that the team is in "advanced negotiations" with a new potential title sponsor.
And the Turun Sanomat newspaper in Finland have put two and two together and suggested that the replacement communications company could be Senna's personal sponsor Embratel.
But Senna downplayed the rumours in a post on his almost-exciting Facebook page over the weekend.
"Despite some rumours, my situation remains the same as before," the nephew of three-time F1 champion Ayrton wrote.
"I'm still not confirmed with any team and still battling for a place in F1. Let's keep fighting!"
Senna is believed to be in the running for the Williams seat alongside Pastor Maldonado, with the likes of Rubens Barrichello and Adrian Sutil also linked to the seat.
Alternatively, Senna could choose to return to a reserve driver role, with former employers Renault having suggested that they would be happy to offer him such a role.
Williams, meanwhile, are said to still be in negotiations with the Qatar National Bank over a 2012 sponsorship deal.
