Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg believes that the Red Bull Racing team will continue to dominate in the 2012 Formula One season, saying that the limited regulation changes for the new season will not adversely affect them.
Red Bull dominated proceedings in the 2011 season, with Sebastian Vettel securing back-to-back titles at a canter.
For 2012, the technical regulations have remained somewhat static, though the FIA has banned the use of blown diffusers.
The ban will see car designs revert to the old-style 'periscope' exhaust systems for the new year.
But Rosberg has admitted that despite the rule changes, Red Bull are still the team most likely to start the season at the front.
"No matter what the rules look like, Red Bull will still be strong," he told the Auto Moto und Sport publication in Germany this week.
"They have the expertise, the structure and all the requirements to keep being the best."
Rosberg's own Mercedes team have targeted significant improvements in 2012, after two disappointing seasons of their own.
The German marque have drafted fresh faces into their design department, including former Ferrari man Aldo Costa and former Red Bull and Williams designer Geoff Willis.
And Rosberg, who has been linked with a move to Ferrari for 2013, has insisted that he feels the team are moving in the right direction for the future.
"[Ross Brawn] knows what we need in order to be the best team," Rosberg insisted regarding the future.
"There were many competent people already who had just not yet grown together properly, while not everyone was sitting in the right places. That process has taken place now."
He added: "In [ex-Renault manager] Bob Bell, Geoff Willis and Aldo Costa, we also have three new top people on board.
"I believe very strongly in Ross. You can feel his ambition."
